Staying Consistent for 2024

Jan 09, 2024

I went grocery shopping 🥬 this afternoon and was unamused 😑 from the empty shelves of grocery list items I needed for the week. Ugh! But then I paused and remembered the full yoga class I had last week of brighteye and bushy tailed humans excited to start fresh with new habits and intentions ⭐️. The energy of this new year in particular feels electric⚡️! But, it makes me sad to think that statistically, 80% of people fall off their goals by mid February 😣.

What is the cause of everyone blasting with full speed ahead and then coming to a complete hault 🙅🏼‍♀️? What I have learned from Ayurveda is that every person is VERY unique. We have different physical body structures, mental tendencies, emotional struggles 😩 and spiritual pursuits. If you mix this all together in one melting pot, you get the techicolor human you are today 🌈. So if this is true, then why does everyone approach goals the same way? What if the reason you didn't stick to your goals wasn't because you were lazy, overwhelmed or burnt out, but you were not honoring your unique blueprint?

In my 2024 Vision Guide (that is 100% free to download), I share my step by step process for how to create sustainable goals for the new year. The first step is to get clear on what habits and beliefs you are releasing and acknowledge what cycles you have completed from 2023. I will be guiding my community through this in our Manifestation Workshop on 1/11 ⭐️ (recording sent if you can't make it live), so if you need more assistance with this step, sign up here.

The second step, which I am preaching from the mountain tops 🏔️ because this step is MOST often missed, is to know yourself. Each of us has a unique energy type ✨, we call this dosha in Ayurveda, and once you know more about your human-y ways, you can better navigate how to stay committed when obstacles appear. If you don't know your Ayurvedic energy type yet, take my quiz here 📝.

Now that you know what your type is, let's chat about how you approach goals, what causes you to fall off and what supports you best when you need to pick yourself back up again.

Pittas 🔥🔥🔥

My sweet Pittas, I feel for you a lot as I relate to this energy type most. This time of year, you really shine ☀️. You thrive off of goal setting and having new challenges. I would say majority of Pittas do not fall off mid February but more towards March. Why? Pittas naturally have a LOT of willpower 💥. So obviously, they are supreme at setting goals and starting out strong AF. You know what it takes to succeed and have everything mapped out, color coded and set. But, a fire cannot burn forever. You often bite off more than you can chew and will negate your body's needs just to prove you have been successful with your goals. This way is unsustainable and will lead to burnout if not brought to balance ∞.

So how can a Pitta stay in the game? You are most successful by implementing breaks, taking time for rest and having easeful approaches. Instead of having very rigid schedules without any fun or play time 🦄, only take as many goals as you can handle while maintaining your joy and selfcare game 😴. If you have to forego one of thee things, that is when you know you have overcommitted.

Vatas

My energetic Vatas ⚡️! You loveee the start of the year and have a million ideas and goals for yourself. How exciting! The issue is not getting started for you. You love the fresh start 💚. It becomes challenging for you when you try to take on too many goals at once and feel overwhelmed. That is why you do best with structuring your goals for the year, so you can space them out and focus on just a few, simple ones to start with 🗓️. You also do well with accountabilty plans in place, since you love to rebel and go off the cuff. Joining communities 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ and hiring a mentor are all fruitful choices for staying on track this year.

Kaphas

My consistent Kaphas! Once you stay committed to a goal, there is nothing stopping you ✌🏼. You thrive off of consistency and love to stay on track. So what is the issue then? The hardest part sometimes is just getting started. You are not lazy, you are just afraid of letting go of your old habits and routines in exchange for new ones 😣. So how can you muster up the strength to just get going? Kaphas are best motivated when they are doing things with the people they love 💓. So if you want to start working out in the morning, ask your bestie to join a workout class with you 👯‍♀️. Or if you want to start eating healthier, send your friend a pic of your healthy breakfast in the morning.  You always give so much love to your people, they would be happy to support you in return!

Want a lil more support customizing your 2024 goals and visions to your dosha type? Join my Manifestation + Goal Setting Workshop on 1/11 at 11am pst! Class will be recorded if you cannot make it live. Let's make 2024 the year of miracles!
