Saturn: My Greatest Teacher 🪐🪐
Apr 22, 2025I went through my Saturn Return 🪐 in late 2020 (**peep at the very bottom to know what a Saturn Return is), just as I had recently moved back to LA. I ignorantly thought that I would somehow be spared from Saturn, since the decision came with a lot of grief and pain of what I was leaving behind. I thought I was getting ahead of it and was ready to receive my gold star ⭐️ for following my heart. Little did I know, that moment was just the beginning of the challenges Saturn would throw at me for the next 3 years. I wrote a few others blogs on how to navigate your Saturn Return for those that have Saturn in Pisces (although at this point, I hope you feel empowered as hell with Saturn's wisdom bestowed upon you.)
Initially, I cursed and thrashed 🤬 at Saturn's lessons. Why me? And can you kindly knock it the f*** off? But then, one by one, as Saturn kept bringing me down to my knees, I realized he was waiting for me to humbly ask for help and learn his ways 🤓. I learned a lotttt and grew so much in that time, I felt unrecognizable by the end of my Saturn Return. I learned how to build autonomy and set strong boundaries as a healer 🙅🏼♀️. I learned to slow down and that only through incessant hard work and patience, will my goals come into fruition 🌻. I learned how to process grief and fully feel my emotions. I learned that the only way to receive answers is to surrender to my unshakeable trust in the divine 🙏🏻 and follow my intuition.
Saturn stretched and pulled me in polar opposite directions again and again until he molded me into a resilient person who was unafraid at the next challenge that would inevitable come my way. Although I am now 2.5 years out of my Saturn Return, I still deeply feel his presence and realize all the lessons I became conscious of during my Saturn Return are now just here as a 2.0 version 🥴 as he has shifted signs. The difference is, I now have stronger tools to face them. So, as Saturn begins to enter the fresh sign of Aries 🔥 on May 24th (I am throwing my roommate a party 🎉 for her this day as she leaves her Saturn Return and you should too if you have Saturn in Pisces natally), let's recap the lessons we have collectively moved through this last 2.5 year cycle.
Intuitive Structures
Saturn loves discipline and structure 🏡. If you have strong Capricorn or Aquarius placements, you have lived this lesson well. You know the value of routine and rituals and particularly how important this is for your body's regulation 🧘🏼♀️. The sweet placement of Saturn, the disciplinary, being in the sign of Pisces, means that we have been guided to be more disciplined with our intuitive practices. Qi gong, meditation, yoga or a simple nature walk 🌳 may have been a new part of your routine that you've wrestled keeping consistent this 2.5 year period. You can thank Saturn for showing you, albeit in harsh ways, what happens when you neglect this practice. As humans, that just so happens to be the way we have to learn in order to get long lasting change. Hooray for the pain and joy that is life and thank God for your intuitive practice that has now became an integral part of your life 🤩. Initially, you may have used this practice as an antidote to stress and anxiety. But as you continue to grow this practice, you realize it was to build an unshakeable connection to the Divine 🌞.
Feeling Before Action
We live in a fast paced world that often tells us we are behind or will lose it all if we don't act quick 😨. While there are certainly times when quick action is needed, we are in a time, collectively, to balance out this energy with tuning more deeply into our feelings first, the gift of Pisces 🐟. Your body holds the keys to your intuition and what your heart truly desires 💕. Your body will speak in a multitude of ways when something is a no, an instant gut reaction or a wave of pure exhaustion 🥱. It can feel so obvious, and yet, the hardest signal to follow. Instead you go for what looks good on paper and in the eyes of others, because that feels easier and may give instant gratification. But, this Saturn in Pisces cycle taught us that you must tune into your feelings and your body's intuition 👁 before taking action. I learned the hard way on this one and thought I could fast track my way, despite my intuition screaming at me 'NOOOOO!'. I know now, thou shalt never abandon the wisdom of your body. Feelings are uncomfortable, but also the source of the greatest wisdom for your next step forward.
Follow Your Heart's Desires
Pisces is the dreamer ☁️ and can reveal your subconscious thought patterns and beliefs. As idyllic as your dreams can be, when the call to step into them comes, it often is met with deep fear. These are your subconscious beliefs rising to the surface. Will I be successful at this? Am I actually capable of achieving my dreams? Because they are in your subconscious mind, you might take them as face value and have them run the show😵💫. Now, here is where the shadow side of Pisces comes into play with addiction and numbing tools. Because your subconscious beliefs feel so strong, you may choose to numb out your dream's messages with addictive behaviors to escape your reality. But, here is where your mighty teacher, Saturn comes in to save the day! That is a sweet way of saying that Saturn probably brought you to your knees if you were ignoring the calling of your soul's truest desires 🤭 and shook you back on track to getting there 🫨🫨. You then realize, that your subconscious beliefs weren't coming up to be taken as the truth, but to be witnessed, felt and released, so that your dreams can step forward. Sheesh I am feeling this one and I am not even in my Saturn Return!
So as we round up our last month of Saturn being in Pisces, for now, (he will Rx back into this sign in the Fall), these lessons may feel more in your face than ever. This is just Saturn being Saturn. He wants you to grow, be the best version of yourself and will make sure you receive the lesson LOUD 📣 and clear before moving onward. So humbly follow his ways and slow down, reflect, simplify and create discipline in how his lessons specifically apply to you.

**Saturn Return is when Saturn goes back to the sign he was in when you were born. It usually happens around 27-29 and stays there for 2.5-3 years to teach you some harsh lessons. It continues again every 30 years after. So, look at your natal birth chart to see where Saturn is and if he is in Pisces, you have been in your Saturn Return!
