How to Stay Consistent as a Vata Entrepreneur

Oct 24, 2023

When I think of how much of a unicorn ๐Ÿฆ„ my Vata clients are, I hear Lady Gaga's song "Born This Way". They have always been drumming to the beat of their own songs since they were lil babes. It wasn't even a question whether they would go to art or fashion school, because 'baby they were born this way ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป‍๐ŸŽค'.

While it does sound super electric โšก๏ธto be a Vata, the truth is that it wasn't easy to always be the different one. A lot of times, parents and family, highly questioned their alternative path and questioned ๐Ÿง if they will be successful doing the thing they love most. Their friends made fun of them for being 'out there' ๐Ÿ˜– or having 'too big of dreams'. But ultimately, all of this resistance and push back leads them down a long road of building unshakeable self trust in knowing who they are. After years of sticking to their truth, they finally learn to not budge or settle for anything less than owning their uniqueness ๐Ÿ˜‰.

When Vatas finally get to the point of starting their own business, they exhale ๐Ÿ’จ, knowing they have reached liberation- basically nirvana ๐Ÿคค. They are finally their own boss and don't have to listen to anyone else! But as they try to grow their business, they realize their flowy way of living gets in the way of being organized in their calendars and committed to their goals ๐Ÿ˜ฅ. They fall short each time they enact on a new project and feel defeated when they don't complete it. They know their ideas are pioneering and beyond creative, but lack the ability to follow through with them ๐Ÿ˜“.

So why is it so difficult for Vatas to be consistent?๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Well, first, we need to address why Vatas like to be consistent ๐Ÿ˜ˆ.

It is obvious how important living an unconventional life is to Vatas. You do not work well in 9-5 structures or typical office environments ๐Ÿคญ. You like to dance to the beat of your own drum. Period. You will not succumb to societal norms ๐Ÿ˜ท. However, your ability to be creative and unique does not mean that you have to lack devotion to your work. You can still be creative while also finding a way to stay committed to your goals ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

Now that you know why, it is important to reflect on why the word 'consistency' and 'commitment' can feel so damn triggering ๐Ÿคช.

Take inventory of what these words meant to you in the past. Did you have a super rigid job that suffocated you ๐Ÿ˜จ? Did you have ridiculously strict rules from your parents growing up ๐Ÿ˜ฐ? So often, Vatas project their past experience of these words onto their future experiences. They think 'ugh, if I have schedule it means I have to work 9-5". Or, they think if they create goals, they have to neglect their intuition guiding them ๐Ÿคจ.

The truth is that consistency is really just showing up for yourself on a regular basis, which FYI, doesn’t have to mean posting on social everyday ๐Ÿฅณ. Consistency can just be devoting a segmented time for your business every day, week and/or month. Now, what you do in that time period is where it gets real fun. This is where you learn how to make your own rules as CEO of your business ๐Ÿ˜š. You can plan which weeks you know you feel most productive and schedule your more arduous tasks on those days. The weeks you feel most creative are for content creation. The week where you will like not doing anything but sitting cross legged on your meditation cushion, well 'om' the F on ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผ‍โ™€๏ธ.

You see, sweet lil, Vata, your business needs to be fun and exciting ๐ŸŽ‰ otherwise you will jump ship. Why? Because that is not who you are! Your ability to infuse excitement into every aspect of your business determines your ability to stay consistent and therefore, successful ๐Ÿ‘.
