How Do I Know My Niche?

Since I started my business ๐Ÿค“, I have always had an adversity to identifying who my audience was. Why do I need to identify that as a healer? Doesn't everyone deserve healing? It is not like I would turn down certain people who came to my yoga class. I would get all different walks of life and feel like there was no rhyme or reason. It made me happy that I had such a vast reach ๐Ÿ˜Š.


But, my business major experience and entrepreneur mind ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผ‍๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผ‍๐Ÿ’ผ knew why it was important to have a niche. Picking a lane allows you to hone in on an expertise and speak more directly to your future client. After all, there are 200 million IG businesses ๐Ÿ’ป with about 1.4 billion monthly users, there needs to be an easy way for your clients to find you. But how on Earth do you do that?


Well first, you need to excavate the limiting belief that that is keeping you from clarifying your niche. Here are common beliefs my clients hold around this:


'Well, I don't have many clients now, so I need to keep it broad to cast a wider net and not miss out on opportunities.'

'I get a wide range of clients who come to me. There is no rhyme or reason.'

'I want to be accessible to everyone and be able to take in any client who shows up on my front [IG] step.'


Let's tackle #1. I know it seems counterintuitive, but if you are not specific enough on 'who' you are calling in, the universe has no idea how to send it to you ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. The same thing goes for anything you are manifesting ๐Ÿ”ฎ. If you are too broad in asking for what you want like a healthy relationship, the universe thinks, well there a billion healthy relationships I could send you. However, I would be toying with your freewill if I just chose for you, you need to get more clear โœจ. When you clarify the type of client you are calling in, you open the doors to opportunities. From your client's perspective, you make them feel seen. Like I mentioned, there are 200 million businesses on IG. They don't want to feel like they are just like everyone else. They want to know, you specifically, get them to their core and can help them get the results they want ๐Ÿฅฐ.


#2--> Yes, it's true. If you look back at your past clients, you may think what a Motley Crue ๐Ÿฆฆ this is! But when you dig deep into the core wounds they share, you see identical twins ๐Ÿ‘ฏ‍โ™€๏ธ. Once you identified a few core wounds, which will resemble yours, reverse engineer the main type of client you have been attracting. There may be some outliers, but you will also notice certain patterns. The other half of this is you having strong boundaries to say 'no' to clients you don't enjoy working with and 'yes' to the clients you prefer. If you have been loosey goosey with your client boundaries ๐Ÿคจ (i.e. adjusting your prices, no required contracts/agreements/regulations, no application process), you may have not been calling in the right clients to begin with. Clean up shop with your clients and refine who your dream client is.


#3--> If your core mission is to have a brand that is accessible to all and this reflects perfectly in your offerings, then I understand having a niche that is for everyone. Do I think that is difficult for smaller businesses? yes. Have I only seen that work with businesses that have now grown to large and have that luxury? yes. In an age where are constantly breaking down culture barriers and cracking our heart chakra ๐Ÿ’• wide open to bring humanity back into our capitalistic, misogynistic, patriarchal society, I understand the sentiment of wanting your healing offerings to be for everyone. I do. But from my experience, you cannot serve from an empty cup. You cannot help everyone. In fact, you are not even the right person for everyone! Thank God, because that shit is exhausting and sucks the life right out of you ๐Ÿ’€. It is the law of nature. What we give, we must also receive
